History of Kayalana Lake:

Kaylana Lake is also known as Pratap Sagar. It was constructed in 1872 by Pratap Singh, the Maharaja of Jodhpur because Jodhpur did not have enough water, and people were always struggling to find water to drink and use. So, the Maharaja decided to build a big wall, like a dam, across the Jojari River. This wall helped make the lake, and it was a lifesaver for the people in Jodhpur because it gave them the water they needed to survive in the super dry Thar Desert.
